What could be more romantic than a wedding on the mighty Mississippi river beneath the warm sun, surrounded by three thousand acres of pristine park land steeped in historic beauty, on board a quaint Victorian styled paddle boat? If this picturesque setting sounds appealing to you, you're not alone! Many couples are discovering the advantages the "Magnolia Blossom" has to offer for their wedding ceremony. From your choice of destinations, exciting on board activities and entertainment, to the legendary service and cuisine*, the "Magnolia Blossom" can be an all-inclusive and wonderful way to start and celebrate your marriage. We offer wedding packages specifically and individually designed for those who wish to be married on board the "Magnolia Blossom",. We also do receptions and grooms or rehearsal dinners. Wedding packages range from simply intimate to elaborately detailed. We have "Sample" packages ranging in price from $950.00 to $5000.00 on which to base your plans on. We understand that planning a wedding is sometimes exhausting and a stressful experience. We can help create your ultimate dream wedding and make the preparations economical and virtually stress-free so that you may concentrate on what's really important- embarking on a new life with the one you love! Please phone for an appointment to inspect the vessels, at which time we can answer your questions and discuss the many options that are available to you. Q: Can I furnish my own wedding cake? A: Yes, you certainly may bring your own cake and flowers as well, no charge. If you're cake shopping, we are willing to share our experience with you, or even do the shopping for you. We will be happy to furnish plates, napkins and flatware for your cake, as well as serve it for you.. Q: Can I choose a location to be married? A: Yes, inside or outside the vessel, or even another location, such as the "Wedding Tree" on Pike Island, Ford Island with the water rushing over the dam or perhaps Hidden Falls. The boat is yours, and we gladly go where you wish. Q: What about a wedding rehearsal, do I need one? A: It is doubtful that you need a dress rehearsal. Usually the groom and best man join the officiating person at the wedding trellis, the music starts and the Bridal party come up the isle to join the rest of the wedding party. We do a lot of weddings and can make everyone comfortable. If you feel you need a rehearsal, it can be arranged. Q: Can a Captain really marry us? A: Yes, as long as he is empowered by the State, Not because he is a Captain. In the state of Minnesota, only a judge, retired judge or minister / priest may legally perform the ceremony. Our Captain performs a ceremony aboard that is basically civil, non- denominational, presented in a brief, happy, river lore method. Q: We don't drink alcoholic beverages, what about the champagne? A: We stock non-alcoholic champagne, white wine and Asti Spumonte for those who do not indulge. We will be happy to substitute these for champagne included with any package. We also stock non-alcoholic beer. We can offer you complete packages or you can select items to assemble your own individual wedding.
